Activities and Groups for Breightmet

Breightmet Butterflies is a women's group based at the Elderdale Community Centre on Friday mornings, 10-12.

We do a variety of activities including wellbeing activities, art, crafts etc to support the mental health of any woman in Breightmet who may need extra support and friendship.

Low intensity/Impact exercise circuits with music. low impact exercise which is a great option for people with joint or limited mobility and helps stretch and strengthen the muscles of the abdomen and back which can improve posture.

Reflections Counselling Service is a registered charity and offers free, one to one counselling sessions to people living in Bolton who are 18 years and over.

We help you explore ways to improve your mental health and well-being so you can enjoy a better quality of life.   We can help with a wide range of issues including stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement, self esteem, relationships breakdown, drug and alcohol use.

Appointments for counselling are available Wednesday and Thursdays between 9am - 5pm.  No referral necessary, you can contact us yourself directly if you would like to receive counselling. There is a waiting list for appointments - we will take your details and contact you when an appointment becomes available.

Gentle stretching exercises and circuits class for over 50's Monday and Wednesday mornings. 10am - 11am  

We meet every Thursday evening between 6.15-7.15pm 

The class involves doing choreographed exercise based on the thigh and stomach area. It will tone and shape your body.

We offer free activities for young people ages 9 to 12 years old in a fun, safe and friendly environment. Activities include: arts and crafts, team games, sports and baking.

Mind & Body is a low impact exercise which is a great option for people with joint or limited mobility. Helps stretch and strengthen the muscles of the abdomen and back which can improve posture, reduce weight also great for toning all the body.

A weekly class suited for those who have done some yoga before and feel comfortable joining an online class.  Helps build flexibility, balance, strength and mental wellbeing. Each class involves movement, breathwork and relaxation.  Adjustments and alternatives offered for poses to accommodate old injuries/conditions where possible. 

Current charge: £30 monthly for 8 classes in 2-month blocks.  Try a class for free and see if this is for you.

2 miles gentle pace, varied but accessible terrain, some gentle hills occasional steps and/or stiles.

We have a wide range of three and four wheeled bikes including wheelchair transsporters, recumbent trikes, companion bikes and hand cycles  Adapted bike means that anybody aged 5 to 95 can take part - whether they have a sensory, learning disabillity. The sessions are also great for those with mental health conditions, dementia, as well as anyone who needs to gain confidence, lose weight or start an exercise programme. 

This is done through the performance of poses or postures, each of which has specific physical benefits. The poses can be done quickly in succession, creating heat in the body through movement (vinyasa-style yoga) or more slowly to increase stamina and perfect the alignment of the pose. The poses are a constant, but the approach to them varies depending on the yoga tradition in which the teacher has trained.
