Do you fancy trying out something completely different, and think you might benefit from spending some time in the supportive, nurturing, peaceful environment of our hidden gem - The Roost at Bright Meadows?
The Roost is a fledgling edible forest garden (and community forest school space), led by multi-award winning social enterprise, Little Bats Learning. We're tucked away amongst the houses in Breightmet, and really are a bit of a secret garden.
On site, you will find a spacious polytunnel with a growing indoor garden, and cosy sofas for chats and support. Outside, we have a beautiful tipi for gatherings, complete with seating circle. There's a secure shed, in which we will be developing a small workshop space. We have a mini woodland, which is our forest school space for our local children of all ages.
We offer adults who would like to help us grow the space many opportunities for physical activities (gardening, conservation, and woodland management/habitat development tasks); practical - making, crafting, cooking. Take some mindful moments, try a bit of 'rakey'; potter amongst the plants, take time for tea and chat; craft, cook and make things; nurture our lovely bit of nature, and nurture yourself too.
This session is for all adults over 18.
Experience not needed, as our sessions are supported by our trained (and experienced team).
You just need to be keen to learn, be able to listen to instructions (to keep you and others safe), and willing to try new things.
Also, as it's an outdoor site, we can get muddy, and wet. We can loan waterproofs/boots to those who don't have them.
